Colin Farrell may be bringing his bad boy charm to the Round Table as King Arthur's wife-bedding knight in Warner Brothers' long-shelved "Arthur and Lancelot."

Variety reports that Farrell is in talks to star in the movie, written and directed by "The Change-Up" helmer David Dobkin, despite early difficulties in securing a cast for the film.

"Game of Thrones" star Kit Harrington was originally cast as the British sovereign, with "The Killing" star Joel Kinnaman as Lancelot, although neither star is currently associated with the project. Some sources report that the casting change was due to conflicts in Harrington and Kinnaman's schedule, while others claim it was the actors' lack of name recognition that caused the roles to be recast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, while Farrell is a nearly sure thing, there's no word yet on who will play opposite him.

Also up in the air is the style of the movie; Dobkin is best known for his lighter work as the director behind comedies like "Shanghai Knights" and "Wedding Crashers," and some media outlets report that he'll be bringing his signature humor to "Arthur and Lancelot" too, while others are convinced the film will be more of a traditional action adventure.

Either way, the combination of Colin Farrell, naughty royal sex, and epic sword battles will have fans ordering tickets faster than you can say "Excalibur."
