Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's Acting Career Is Dunzo

When you think of the most famous I-can't-believe-they're-not-identical faces in Hollywood, two names come to mind: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Unfortunately for showbiz, we may have seen the last of them. The famous pair, who got their start 25 years ago playing wise-cracking baby Michelle Tanner on "Full House," are giving up acting for good.

In the April issue of British Elle, the sisters announced that they're leaving the big screen behind to focus on other projects, including their popular fashion lines Elizabeth and James and The Row.

Ashley Olsen, whose last film appearance was more than eight years ago alongside her sister in "New York Minute," says of the departure, "I wanted to work on other things. It doesn't mean I'm not interested in Hollywood. I like the way it operates, I like the people who are involved and the sense of possibility. But if I ever get back in, it's not going to be as an actress … Now it's important and liberating to be on the other side of the lens."

Mary-Kate, who has maintained more regular work over the past decade than her sister, with major roles in "The Wackness," "Beastly," and on "Weeds," concurred with her sister's statement, saying, "[It] just felt right to move away."

For those who just can't get enough of that Olsen charm, don't fret. With an amazing start to her career with "Martha Marcy May Marlene" and upcoming roles in "Silent House" and "Oldboy," it doesn't look like younger sister Elizabeth is going away any time soon.
