Good news for fans of "X-Men: First Class:" The gang is getting back together — and this is one sequel that will be anything but second class.

That's because, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "X-Men: First Class" director Matthew Vaughn and producer Bryan Singer have both signed back on for the sequel, as have all of the film's stars, including newly minted superstars Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence.

Talk about a Brotherhood of Awesome Mutants.

Fassbender and Lawrence, of course, have totally blown up big time since "X-Men: First Class" hit theaters last summer; Fassbender earned a Golden Globe nomination for baring both his soul and his junk in "Shame," while Lawrence, who already had an Oscar nod under her belt for "Winter's Bone," is poised to become an international superstar when "The Hunger Games" opens in March.

Of course, just what the movie will be about has yet to be revealed; considering "X-Men: First Class" ended with the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, we could see the X-Men get involved in anything from President Kennedy's assassination to the moon landing to Woodstock. Heck, after all the chatter about Professor X and Magento being comic book versions of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, maybe we'll get to see the four of them actually meet up.

Whatever the case, though, one thing is now certain: With stars like Fassbender, Lawrence, James McAvoy and Rose Byrne all back for a second go round, it appears that for these mutants, the second time is going to be the charm.
