It's Another 'Nutcracker' for Adam Shankman

So you think you can dance… the Nutcracker?

Director, choreographer and "So You Think You Can Dance" judge Adam Shankman is dancing so fast from project to project that we're a little dizzy. With "Rock of Ages" in the can, Shankman's quickly moving on to another, albeit more old-fashioned, stage and screen favorite: "The Nutcracker."

Inevitably (and thankfully), this round will have a different flavor than last year's Razzie nominee with Elle Fanning, Nathan Lane and John Turturro, which took Tchaikovsky's music and story and gave it a healthy (read: creepy) dose of weird CGI and 3-D.

Gauging by Shankman's past projects, you can bet your bottom dollar that we'll be seeing some "SYTYCD" alums dancing in this winter wonderland.

All-Star Kathryn McCormick is starring in the Shankman-produced "Step Up 4," so it's possible she could find herself a starring role in "Nutcracker" as well. Other favorites, Allison Holker particularly, could be amazing, while Season 5's Melissa Sandvig has the balletic chops if Shankman keeps the movie en pointe. Naturally, this season's winner, Melanie Moore, is also a front runner.

But what about the love interest, that dashing prince in tights? Well, our pick is ballerino Alex Wong, whose Achilles tendon will hopefully be back in working order by the time filming stars. He's got awhile, though, because this family film isn't due in theaters until 2013. If Shankman keeps this "Nutcracker" classic, Wong will be compared to previous Princes like Mikhail Baryshnikov ... and Macaulay Culkin.
