My Favorite Movie: Mark Duplass

"[My favorite movie] shifts, from time to time, depending on my mood, you know, but there is something about [the Coen brothers'] 'Raising Arizona' for me that perennially is a movie I can go back to, visit and find the magic in and the sense of goofy earnestness that I am in love with in all art and all aspects of life.

"That's what I love about my art, it's what I love in conversation and something that [my brother] Jay and I have tried to adopt in our movies is a sense of 'come see this thing, we'll offer you something meaty but we're not going to slam you over the head with it, you're gonna have some laughs at the same time.'"

Mark Duplass co-wrote and co-directed  (as always, with his brother Jay) 2010's "Cyrus" and is currently starring on FX's "The League" while making the festival rounds with the brothers' latest film "Jeff Who Lives at Home," which stars Jason Segel and Ed Helms. It's scheduled for release in the spring of 2012.
