'Toy Story 3' Tops Twisty Tarantino's List for 2010
Mega-director and noted movie maniac Quentin Tarantino has kicked-off the New Year with a list of his 20 favorite flicks of 2010, and boy-o-boy are there some doozies.
To start, his numero uno is Pixar's "Toy Story 3," which wouldn't be such a shock if he didn't also include Disney's "Tangled" and Dreamworks' "How To Train Your Dragon." Who would have thought the basterd who cut off a cop's ear, raped Ving Rhames and shot Uma Thurman in the head (in his movies) has a soft spot for kiddie flicks?
Written exclusively for the decade-old fansite The Quentin Tarantino Archives, there's no commentary with the exception of #10 "Enter the Void" whose seizure-inducing opening credits sequence he posits as "one of the greatest in cinema history."
Notably absent is "Somewhere" by former flame Sofia Coppola, which received the Golden Lion at the 67th Venice Film Festival on which Tarantino was Jury President. Also nowhere to be found is "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" by QT superbuddy Edgar Wright, who actually wrote the film in Tarantino's guesthouse! Perhaps he wants to avoid favoritism… again.
