Kendrick Lamar Chose An 'untitled unmastered.' Single -- And Gave It A Name

It's available on iTunes

One of the key characteristics of Kendrick Lamar's untitled unmastered., of course, was that each of the album's eight tracks were unnamed. For one, though, that's changing.

"untitled 07 | 2014-2016" has now been repacked and released as a single on iTunes, with the name "untitled 07 | levitate." The track has also been shortened; on the album version, the "untitled 07" lasts more than eight minutes, and is broken up into three distinct sections, with three separate beats. This latest version, though, is just under two-and-a-half minutes long, highlighting only the first piece of the original.

As for the new title -- it makes perfect sense, given that K. Dot says "levitate" 28 times in those two-plus minutes.

The beat's original name, though, before Kendrick got his hands on it, was "Oh," according to Cardo, who produced the track with Yung Exclusive and Frank Dukes.

"To be honest, that beat wasn’t even finished," Cardo told MTV News earlier this month. "That beat was just an idea, and I was like, fuck it, I’m gonna send it and see what happens. And we saw what happened: It ended up being a record."

In addition to new iTunes upload, according to HipHop-N-More, Dot's label, Interscope, has sent the single to Rhythmic radio, so we may be hearing it there, soon.
