In our new weekly column, we give you the lowdown on the weekly top three essential DVDs and Blu-ray releases.

This week belongs to adventure, whether it's in the magnificent "Indiana Jones" collection, the horror spectacle of "The Cabin in the Woods" or the song-and-dance razzmatazz of "Katy Perry: Part of Me." The fantastic thing about all these releases: They're packed with enough special features to keep even the most ardent fan busy for hours, learning about the filmmakers and consuming behind-the-scenes content galore.

Swing into adventure with this incredible collection. The first three Indiana Jones films ("Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade") are now available for the first time on Blu-ray in this 5-disc set that also includes "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

Meticulous restoration care has been taken, under the watchful eye of Steven Spielberg, to restore "Raiders" using the best available techniques, including scanning the film at 4K and going frame-by-frame to correct damage, as well as enhancing the sound while maintaining the original vision.

Special features for the collection are massive, and include several newly produced On Set with "Raiders of the Lost Ark" featurettes: "From Jungle to Desert," "From Adventure to Legend." Several making-of featurettes: "Raiders of the Lost Ark" documentary (1981), as well as featurettes for each of the four films included. Behind-the- scenes materials cover the stunts, sound, music, light and magic of Indiana Jones: Insight into how they accomplished such feats as the melting face in "Raiders," the creepy crawlies that abound in the films, the various locations, a look at the women that populate the films, as well as the friends and enemies in the movies. Other featurettes explore the props, effects and post-production secrets for "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." High definition trailers and teasers for each film are included.

"The Cabin in the Woods" spawned a movement of people who either loved or hated the quirky horror film, which centers around five unsuspecting friends who take a weekend getaway that quickly turns surreal and deadly, forcing them to confront each other, horror-movie cliches, and forces beyond their control.

The special features for this release are plentiful, and include picture-in-picture content which features cast and crew discussing the film, audio commentary with writer/director Drew Goddard and writer/producer Joss Whedon, a making-of featurette, along with featurettes about props and production design, makeup and animatronics, and visual effects. The disc also contains a Wonder-Con Q&A session with Goddard and Whedon, and the theatrical trailer.

The Blu-ray release comes with a digital download as well.

Katy Perry shot from obscurity to become one of the biggest pop stars in the world. This dynamic documentary and concert film takes a look at the girl behind the costumes, including interviews with Perry herself, as well as family, friends and fans.

This Blu-ray comes with an addition DVD as well as a digital download copy.

The sparkling special features for this fun release release includes the full performance of "Waking Up in Vegas" and "Last Friday Night," the making-of "Wide Awake", featurettes on "Girl and a Guitar," "Katy's BFF," "The Grammys You'll Never Take Away From Me," and behind the scenes on the California Dreams Tour.
