Fox Fall Preview: Another Arrested Development, Sort Of

There can't be enough Arrested Development in a new show.

David Cross is coming in as Keri Russell's fiance in Fox's fall show Running Wilde. The show is created by Arrested Development's Mitch Hurwitz and Jim Vallely and stars Will Arnett.

"Arrested was ahead of its time, which might be why it had problems at the time. Today's audience more open to this style of humor, very smart humor but very stupid as well," said Wilde co-star Peter Serafinowicz Monday at the Television Critics Association press tour.

The pilot of the show hasn't been well-received by critics, and in the session creators say it has been tweaked and fine tuned. Arnett took a critic to task the evening before the Monday press panel for knocking the pilot in print. After the session, he jumped off the stage to apologize.

"I was tired and I'm sorry," Arnett told St. Louis Post-Dispatch critic Gail Pennington.

Good guy status renewed. And hopefully a better pilot will be shown to viewers.
