What2Watch: Christine Finishes Her Adventures ... For Now

Will The New Adventures of Old Christine be coming back for a fourth season sometime in 2009? It's hard to know what to make of this series, which has only had one traditional September-to-May season thus far. CBS kept it on the shelf to use as a winter stopgap somewhere, which came in very handy when the strike arrived.

Tonight's finale (CBS, 9:30 PM) of the ten-episode third season (the last three scheduled episodes went unfilmed due to the strike) reunites star Julia Louis-Dreyfus with her old Seinfeld running mate Jason Alexander, who plays -- and this may be really weird for old Seinfeld fans -- Christine's gynecologist. He suggests her flu-like symptoms could be a sign of perimenopause, which makes Christine take an interest in her hormone levels. If nothing else, Louis-Dreyfus is pretty much guaranteed to get an Emmy nomination every year (the competition among actresses in comedies being very slim), and CBS has few shows it can say that about. Maybe that will tip the scales towards it coming back.

Dancing With the Stars (ABC, 8 PM): I like how everyone is talking up Kristi Yamaguchi as the favorite. She might want folks to stop doing that, seeing as how the early favorite has never once won this show.

Greek (ABC Family, 8 PM): Fraternity and sorority come together to hold a Prohibition Party based on The Great Gatsby. Um, these are college kids. Aren't all parties with booze involved technically "prohibition parties?"

Little People, Big World (TLC, 8 PM and 8:30 PM): At 8, Matt and Amy deal with a bad attitude on the job. At 8:30, work on building a new trebuchet gets interrupted by injuries.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8 PM): The guys beg off nurse duties when Sheldon gets sick, so it's left up to Penny to tend to his needs. Sheldon might just take his time getting well.

Top Gear (BBC America, 8 PM): Rounding up vehicles for a motor home grand prix, which hopefully will be taking place on a closed course.

How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30 PM): Barney realizes an ex is out to ruin his love life, so he creates a March Madness-style bracket -- and yes, all 64 slots are used -- to narrow down the suspects.

America's Prom Queen (ABC Family, 9 PM): The remaining contestants have to demonstrate their "prom spirit." I picture eight Tracy Flicks running around maniacally.

Flavor of Love 3 (VH1, 9 PM): The remaining women are asked to stage a "hip hopera." Which should work out well, considering how lovely all of their normal speaking voices are.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 9 PM): Hannah is taken for horseback riding lessons while Aaden goes to a farm to see where milk comes from (though not where meat comes from; that lesson is several years down the road).

Locked Up Abroad (National Geographic, 9 PM): A pair looking to raise some money while on vacation agree to fly some marijuana to Amsterdam, but don't make it out of Mexico City.

New Amsterdam (Fox, 9 PM): Amsterdam investigates a murder case where the victim resembles a son of his from the early 1900s, leading him to question the impact of his immortality on those closest to him.

Paradise Hotel 2(MyNetworkTV, 9 PM; Fox Reality, 1 AM): The guys stage a "hot bod" contest to impress the new woman, who is later given the chance to use gossip against others.

Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW, 9 PM): A filler hour to catch people up on the competition thus far, including outtakes not previously shown. Maybe they left all the good singing on the cutting room floor?

Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9 PM): Alan dates one of Judith's friends, who relates some choice info about Judith's sex life.

The Bachelor: London Calling (ABC, 9:30 PM): Matt has two one-on-one dates and plays rugby with the other ten contenders; three women are eliminated.

CSI: Miami (CBS, 10 PM): Horatio must really be regretting the day he ever met Julia, who has him arrested for a killing that took place in Brazil. Also, Calleigh is being harassed by a Web site that catalogs her mistakes. This is the first of a two-parter that concludes tomorrow.

High School Confidential (WE, 10 PM): Allyson deals with a pregnancy and the sudden death of her father; Sarah T. stands apart from the crowd but becomes interested in art; Kim decides to abandon a favored activity to the disappointment of her father.

Medium (NBC, 10 PM): Allison and Cynthia achieve closure in the investigation into the disappearance of Cynthia's daughter; Joe continues to tinker with his invention.

Mystery Diagnosis (Discovery Health, 10 PM): A newborn baby faces an escalating series of problems that no one can explain. At least not till the last 10 minutes.

Storytellers(VH1, 10 PM): Get the bleep button ready: Snoop Dogg performs, telling us everything we always wanted to know about a 187 on an undercover cop.

The Hills (MTV, 10 PM and 10:30 PM): At 10, Lauren has it out with Brody over his alleged indiscretion, while Whitney considers leaving her job -- probably wise, since an employee of Teen Vogue should probably know how to pronounce Givenchy. At 10:30, Lauren makes a surprising new friend in a fashion class.
