Harry Styles Is Going One Direction Toward Hollywood

The 1D dude is making his feature-film debut

Hold the phone and stop all traffic: One Direction member Harry Styles is coming to the big screen. The pop singer was recently rumored to have been offered a role in Christopher Nolan's film Dunkirk.

Well, it seems like the rumor was actually true — unlike that cursed Beetlejuice 2 one — and we are freaking TF out right now. This isn't going to be some small little indie movie that may or may not make it to your hometown, oh no. It's going to be a World War II action-drama film.

Per Variety, Styles is confirmed for Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk film, although details about his character and amount of screen time in the movie haven't been revealed, as Warner Bros. offered no comment.

Styles's costars include The Revenant and Mad Max: Fury Road actor Tom Hardy, as well as Mark Rylance, who just won an Oscar for his role as Rudolf Abel in Bridge of Spies.

According to IMDb, Dunkirk will follow the events of the Dunkirk evacuation, a.k.a. Operation Dynamo, which dealt with the rescue of Allied soldiers from Dunkirk, France in 1940.

The movie is currently slated for release on July 21, 2017, with Nolan writing the screenplay in addition to directing and producing the feature.

Congrats, Harry!
