MTV's "True Life: I'm Married to a Stranger" followed two people who were tying the knot with someone they'd barely even met face to face. We had an opportunity to check in with Geena and Shane to see how their lives have changed since filming wrapped. Take a look at our follow-up Q&As below:

Geena

Are you and Christian still together?

Christian and I are still together. We lost our apartment and had to move out, but we’re now living with his grandparents and cousin. It’s not the best situation and is putting a lot of stress on our marriage, but we do still love each other a lot and are trying to work everything out.

Do you think Christian will ever give up the street life, and do you think you can be together if he doesn’t?

I don’t think he’ll ever give up the street life, even though he told me he would. But I love him so much that I don’t want to leave the marriage, but I don’t know how much I can take.

What were your expectations when he got out vs. what actually happened?

When Christian got out of prison, I thought everything would be perfect. He was so sweet and loving to me and promised to make me the happiest wife ever. Things were never “perfect,” but for the first few months, I could tell he was really trying to make an effort to show me how much he loved me. Then, slowly, it felt like he stopped caring and was always getting annoyed and angry at me.

Where do you think this relationship is headed now?

The situation isn’t great. We fight a lot, and sometimes he hardly even talks to me. I’m afraid that if we keep fighting or if anything else happens, that he’s going to leave me. We have a lot of love for each other and are trying to show this, but it’s not working out that much. I’ve also filed for divorce papers and have talked to a divorce lawyer but haven’t done anything more than that. I’m just hoping that once we figure out how to make some money, things will get a lot easier for us.

Shane

How has life been since the wedding?

I’ve never been happier in my life. There was a part of me that thought that I would never get married or if I did that I’d be really unhappy. Sometimes it still feels like I’m living in a dream. I got to marry the only person in the entire world that could ever make me happy, and now that we are together, I know we can get through anything.

Are you guys currently living together?

I would say that we are in preparation for living together. We’re about halfway through our immigration process and I’m working on getting things ready on my end to move to Denver in a few months. We won’t be apart for much longer.

Now that you are together in real life, how often have you been playing online games?

Liza doesn’t like playing games with me because I’m a lot better than her at pretty much everything involved in gaming. She’s been playing single player games, and I’ve been focusing on some more difficult, multi-player online games. Recently, she’s been playing WoW again -- she's probably looking for a better-looking husband, We are going to play the next WoW expansion together when it comes out. Though we might not play together, gaming will always be a part of our lifestyle.

What was the biggest thing that you learned about each other during the week of the wedding? What have you learned about each other since then?

Spending 10 years getting to know someone means you learn pretty much everything about them, so there aren’t many gaps in what I know about Liza. The only thing I was really curious about before we met in person was how social she was, since we had mainly interacted just the two of us online. I couldn’t believe how well she got along with my family and friends. Sometimes I feel like she belongs in Canada more than I do. Honestly, I feel like I just can't believe how beautiful she is. The stereotype is that people who you meet online are often lying to you about what they look like, but Liza is the most gorgeous woman I have ever met, and I am insanely lucky to have her.

Where is your relationship going from here?

I am going to be moving to Denver soon so Liza can finish her Master’s degree. I am so proud of everything that she has accomplished -- she really is a force to be reckoned with, and sometimes I can’t believe she picked me. After she finishes school, we might move back to Canada. We will absolutely have kids, a few, I think, at least one named after a World of Warcraft hero. I can’t wait to tell our kids the story of how we met, and you better believe we will absolutely let our children play online games!
