Sofia Carson will join the ranks of Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, and Lucy Hale as our newest Cinderella.
The Descendants star will get a taste of the fairy tale princess life in A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits, the fourth installment of Warner Bros.'s popular Cinderella Story franchise. If the Shoe Fits stars Carson as Tessa, a young woman who is forced to accompany her evil stepmother (Jennifer Tilly) and stepsisters to a Cinderella competition and work as their assistant. However, Tessa also has dreams of princess grandeur, so on the spur of the moment, she decides to audition, too, which will undoubtedly complicated things.
Thomas Law stars as Tessa's Prince Charming, and he has some very handsome shoes to fill.
Freeform has nabbed the TV rights with plans to air the movie by early 2017, reports Variety. The movie is currently filming in Cape Town, South Africa. Michelle Johnston, who produced and choreographed the previous Cinderella Story installments, is directing the film with a script by Elena Song, which honestly makes us even more excited for this girl-power installment.
