As we gear up for the 88th Academy Awards, we're silently praying this year's host, Chris Rock, will totally knock it out of the park, which, unfortunately, cannot be said for several hosts over the years.

I imagine hosting the Oscars is a super stressful job, but despite all their hard work, James Franco, Anne Hathaway, Seth MacFarlane, and Neil Patrick Harris all received some serious backlash from fans and critics alike.
