Long ago, the world was horrified by the fate of the RMS Titanic, the British ocean liner that sank off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada in 1912. Part of the reason it sank was its poor safety measures and overall design, leading to the deaths of over 1,500 passengers and crew.
So naturally, a wealthy fellow in this current century has decided to build an exact replica of the fated ocean liner, and sail the seas once again.
In 2012, Australian billionaire Clive Palmer announced he would be working with Chinese company CSC Jinling Shipyard to build an exact replica of the doomed ship called Titanic II.
Now, in 2016, he has announced the ship (made with more modern safety measures and enough lifeboats for everyone) will be completed in 2018, where it will sail from Asia to the Middle East. Yay!
Naturally, you may be wondering what Jack and Rose, iconic lovers from the 1997 smash hit Titanic would think of all this. I for one believe they would have a few questions ... So here are 23 of them.
You think you're king of the world, or something? What would you say to the Titanic victims' relatives, who probably aren't happy about this news? You're not gonna let go of this plan, are you? Do ~*you*~ think the door was big enough? Cause Jack won't let that go of that, either -- which is fair. Do you agree? Related question ... you're not sailing anywhere cold, right? Or near any rocks, or anything? Oh, you're going from China to Dubai, huh? Have you considered everything that could sink this ship, like aliens, comets, or the ghost of Fabrizio? Oh, you think that's far-fetched, person who's making a replica of an "unsinkable ship" that then efficiently and quickly sank? Is this all an elaborate plan so you can have someone draw you like one of Jack's French girls? You are aware you could just have that happen at home? If it's that car nookie you're after, you know you could just do that in your garage, right? Are you having trouble finding people who want to ride this ship? Especially the third tier passengers, which is what most of the victims of the first ship were? I mean, we probably would have been fine with staying in England if we knew an icy death awaited one of us, you know? Oh, someone offered you a million dollars to ride this thing? Are they a relative of Cal Hockley? Will you be allowing any large, blue jewels on the ship? We're just saying, that would probably would be a bad idea, considering there really was one on the Titanic? Will there be Irish dancing on this ship? Because that would probably be a good addition to your ship idea, is all. ?
