It’s been quite the whirlwind day for Zayn Malik. After releasing his debut solo single “Pillowtalk” and its accompanying video, it’s been practically impossible for the 23-year-old to lay low. Instead, he’s been basking in the support pouring in from all around the world… and from one special person in particular.

While Zayn still hasn’t publicly confirmed his relationship with model Gigi Hadid, the two got awfully hot and heavy in his “Pillowtalk” video, and continued their flirtation on Twitter this afternoon. What started out as a simple Beyonce reflection soon turned into this lovey-dovey exchange:

Zayn also kicked off the promotional tour for “Pillowtalk” this morning with a handful of revealing radio interviews. On Capital FM, for example, he spoke about double-tapping a tweet of Louis Tomlinson’s new baby son, Freddie. The former One Direction bandmates haven’t been on the best of terms since Z left the band last year, but he said Freddie’s first pic was too cute to resist.

“We’ll see if I get an invite [to see Freddie],” he said. “Obviously I wish [Louis] the best of luck and everything. His kid is cute as f—k so obviously I favorited it. We’re not on friend terms, so that’s as far as I can go, by favoriting his picture.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Zayn revealed that he recently got a tattoo of his upcoming album title, Mind Of Mine, and said he now has so much ink that he hasn’t “got much space left.”

Later this afternoon, Zayn reflected on the “insanity” of the day by tweeting a pic of his Macbook. The screen shows the YouTube vid for 2pac’s “Changes,” with a banner ad and a sidebar ad for “Pillowtalk,” which, yes, must be quite the surreal thing to see. (Though I think we can all agree the most perplexing part of this shot is the tab open that shows a Twitter search for own name. Or the bookmarked Soundcloud page for Foster the People. Both are pretty odd, tbh.)
