This Screaming Tree Will Haunt Your Dreams
When's the last time you had a nightmare? I mean a real nightmare -- the kind that makes you get out of bed and go make a sandwich before you can even think about returning to sleep? If it's been a while, you can thank this screaming tree that lives outside of a retirement home in Sussex, England for your bad dreams tonight.
Reddit user damienslash uploaded the image on Thursday, and since then, it has (presumably) wreaked havoc across the entire web, with the tree's branches twisted into an eternal, demented grimace. But you know, as scary as it is, it kind of reminds me of some other notable non-human (or semi-human) faces, too.
Sloth from "The Goonies"
Imagine that tree, in all its grotesque glory, shouting to you in the dead of night: "Hey, you guys!"
The "SpongeBob SquarePants" fish who gets turned into a smelly pile
Well, at least that tree still has its (demonic) personality.
The face of Screaming Trees' Mark Lanegan when he sings
He makes a really good rock star face at 3:07.
The eye monster from "Pan's Labyrinth"
AKA the thing that gave me actual nightmares in 2006.
A heart pumping blood
Not really scary -- just kind of gross.
The dude whose felts melts in "Raiders of the Lost Ark"
I'm somehow completely desensitized to this GIF now.
The Wilhelm Scream personified
You know, the scream that's in every movie ever.
Evard Munch's classic expressionist painting "The Scream"
And its countless imitations.
The Rage Guy meme
Am I stretching now?
Brick Tamland shouting
Which is also the entire web summed up in a GIF.
Sweet dreams.
