This Café Full Of Adoptable Cats Has Closed For Now, For A Great Reason

The human experience is a weird thing in that sometimes, it feels like we're running on a hamster wheel of mundanity, constantly inundated with bad news, day in and day out.

That's why I feel it's my responsibility -- nay, my duty -- as a journalist to bequeath to you this bright bit of Bonafide Good News: A café in Vancouver, Canada filled with cats has temporarily shut down because all the kitties have been adopted.

The cafe, aptly named Catfe, gets its fluffy feline fur babies from the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA). Patrons can get cat-ffeinated while perusing the selection of adoptable kitties, and in only a matter of weeks since it's opened, Catfe's proven to be an enormous success -- so much of a success that it's had to temporarily close until Friday (Jan. 8), in order to acquire more adoptable kitties.

"When I started Catfe, I was just really excited about the idea of being able to hang out with a bunch of cats all day, and to be able to share that with other people," Michelle Furbacher, the "Purresident" of Catfe, told MTV News. "The best part has been getting to know the personalities and quirks of all the different kitties, but it feels great that we also get to help these cats find permanent, loving homes."

The Catfe looks forward to re-opening its doors to the paw-blic very soon. "Unfortunately we were a victim of our own success this week, but we're working with our rescue partner to make sure we won't have to close down again," Furbacher added.
