Thanks to her performance as the marvelous, shapeshifting Professor McGonagall in the "Harry Potter" film franchise, we already know that Maggie Smith is the queen of playing elegant old dames who are so not here for your bougie nonsense.

But it turns out, Smith herself actually hasn't got a clue how good she is, because she's never watched her own greatest performance -- as the masterfully snarky, fantastically elegant Dowager Countess on "Downton Abbey."

Per Vulture, on CBS Sunday Morning, the actress admitted that despite having officially wrapped her work on the BBC series, she still hasn't gotten around to viewing it on her own (something she'd been avoiding out of fear that it might make her self-conscious and affect how she played her role.)

And really, it's ridiculous that Maggie Smith should have to sit through god-knows-how-many hours of upstairs-downstairs drama when the greatest thing about "Downton" -- namely, all those sick burns she doled out as the Dowager Countess over the years -- can be summed up in a series of gifs.
