Rapper King Louie Recovering After Being Shot In The Head

He is reportedly 'awake and talking.'

King Louie is recovering after being shot in the head Wednesday (Dec. 23).

Louie was reportedly shot while inside a vehicle in the Ashburn neighborhood of Chicago at about 3:30 p.m. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Louie's management team and the Chicago Police Department have confirmed the shooting.

Louie was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center after the incident. His condition is now stable and, according to a rep, the Chicago rapper is now “awake and talking."

Louie has been making street-driven music in Chicago for years. He's helped build the city's drill movement and in 2012, Kanye West recognized his work by giving him a shout out in G.O.O.D. Music’s rendition of “I Don’t Like.”

“It was crazy, because you don’t think them type of guys on that level hear your music just coming from the hood,” Louie told MTV News that year.
