Today, bass music heavy hitters Two Fresh and HeRobust join forces to drop Throw That, a five track EP that touts hip-hop sensibilities with electronic music’s invigorating sonic palette. To celebrate the release, the producers and DJs have put together a 10-minute long mini-mix that runs through the five singles on the EP, plus a Mono/Poly remix of “Touch” due on Smog Records this fall. “For this release we wanted to add elements from our early hip-hop style and put a fresh spin on the new club sound,” Sherwyn Nicolls (one half of Two Fresh with Kendrick Nicolls) tells Hive. The adrenaline-laced trap-hop title track “Throw That,” which features a bouncy high-end synth and a deep kicking bass, is the perfect case in point. “The three of us grew up in the South East on the dirty south vibes and we all have an affinity for really creative sounds,” adds HeRobust. Today, we get to enjoy the spoils of this hybrid collaboration.
