Last year, D'Angelo surprised a massive Bonnaroo crowd with his first U.S. appearance in 12 years. Appropriately titled "Origins," the episode above is the first in a four-part documentary series about how Questlove pulled together this historic show. Filmed and directed by famed rock photographer Danny Clinch, the video explores the concept of Quest's "superjams" and the painstaking, somewhat hurried practice sessions that were squeezed in beforehand. Between interview cuts, enjoy D'Angelo and crew's rendition of the Time's "Summertime Thang."
