Stream Cabo Blanco's Stirring Dance EP 'The Feeling'

New York’s Cabo Blanco produces tracks that are an opaque mix of deep, ghetto and tropical bass. Although he’s released everything from maximalist moombahton to deep house edits, his latest EP The Feeling highlights a musical sweet spot for the New Rochelle native. Here, elements of soul, R&B, juke and newly-minted trap-rave swell into a series of emotional dance breaks. “It’s a marriage of all these sounds and emotions,” Cabo tells Hive. “I wanted each track to be its own highlight of this listening experience, almost like a roller coaster with its ups and downs.” Rappers SJ Beats and Doley Bernays guest on the crispy trap track “Slip-N-Slide,” as does Mary J. Blige (in sample form) on the uptempo juke cut “Real Love.” As EDM goes through its inevitable comedown phase, producers like Cabo Blanco will be around to keep people moving in warmer ways.
