The Fates Of These 'Love Actually' Couples Have Finally Been Revealed

Warning: This post may induce many feels.

It's been a dozen years since "Love Actually" came into our lives and became the go-to emotional roller coaster for the holiday season. And yet, it feels like no time at all has passed, because the intricate relationship storylines woven into the pic still resonate realer than Santa could ever dream to be.

Director Richard Curtis and his wife, Emma Freud (who was also the film's script editor), took their family to a recent midnight screening of the movie, and, much to our delight, Freud decided to live-tweet the whole thing. Needless to say, fans were keenly attuned to her feed to catch bits of insider scoop about the movie that we all know and love and ugly-cry to every year.

And guys? There's good news and there's bad news.

For starters, Harry (Alan Rickman) and Karen (Emma Thompson) DO stay together after the credits roll... but their happy family is forever shattered as a result of his affair with Miss Mia.

Freud confirmed that his little necklace purchase was not just a nudge for their flirtation to find new ground. The deal was already sealed between these two.

Apparently, the director himself tried to back down on that bit, but she's going by the original intention.

But there's hope that maybe -- just maybe! -- they'll work through it.

(A psychologist told us that wasn't very likely at all, but you never know!)

In happier news, Freud confirmed that little Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) and Joanna (Olivia Olson) definitely did become a thing after all his mini-swoon effort at the airport. So, a small victory.

If anyone was pure of heart and full of wonder in this movie, it was this lovesick little boy, so YAS for him.

She also addressed the buzzy little bit that popped up about Liam Neeson's character maybe being in love with Thompson's, because he said Karen's name instead of Carol's that one time.

Translation: Good try and all, but nahhh. (To be fair, we kinda thought it might've made sense too.)

But for those of you who were hoping Mark (Andrew Lincoln) and Juliet (Keira Knightley) might have become a thing eventually, she's cooked up a big batch of bummersauce just for you.

She basically quoted his signage verbatim to answer this one.

And sadly, no, Sarah (Laura Linney) and Karl (Rodrigo Santoro) never got their looooooong overdue happy ending.

This poor gal was straight OBSESSED with the fella for "two years, seven months, three days and ... about an hour and 30 minutes," but when she got a call for help from her mentally ill brother mere minutes before her fantasy night with dreamboat Karl, she put family first because love (actually).

Basically, we're still left with all the heartsick emotions, even knowing what became of our fave couples. But hey, at least it all worked out for Jamie (Colin Firth) and Aurelia (Lucia Moniz), language barrier be damned.
