Get Ready To Start Believing Again — 'The X-Files' Revival's First Look Is Here
We still have 43 more days until "The X-Files" revival launches. That means 43 more days until we get to see Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) back in action again. Forty-three more days before we're reunited with Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) and the Smoking Man (William B. Davis). What are we supposed to do until then? Binge-watching the famous '90s series is definitely a good start, but so is watching the first look for the show's relaunch.
On Friday (Dec. 11), FOX shared our first glimpse into the new world of Mulder and Scully with a behind-the-scenes video. Of course, if you were one of the lucky people who saw the ENTIRE first episode at the 2015 New York Comic Con, then you're already way ahead of the game here. But whatever — it's not like we're bitter about it or anything.
After watching (and rewatching, let's be honest here) the first look, here are five vital things we took away from it.
Fans of the show are amazing badasses.
We helped make this entire thing possible, friends. After the final episode aired in 2002 and the second movie in 2008, it seemed that the world was done with Mulder and Scully. Thankfully, fandom is a living, breathing thing that yields actual results.
It's not just the actors who are reprising their roles.
Several production folks who worked on the OG series worked on this miniseries, so everyone was up to speed on the storyline and aren't going to let us down.
We have a brief episode breakdown.
The first and last episodes will be about the show's mythology, while episodes 2-5 are stand alone, presumably being "monster of the week" episodes.
There's going to be some big twist about the mythology.
Mulder himself loves it, so what more do we need?
Duchovny and Anderson still look flawless.
Seriously, well done, guys. Bravo. Good to see chasing down aliens and rogue governmental figures hasn't slowed you down for a minute. ?
