MTV's "True Life: I'm A Gay-For-Pay Porn Star" followed two straight men who perform in man-on-man videos to pay the bills. We had an opportunity to check in with Luke and Ben to see how their lives have changed since filming wrapped. Take a look at our follow-up Q&As below:

Luke

How did Katelin find out about your gay porn career?

Katelin found out about me doing porn through a friend of hers. They somehow found my porn Twitter and sent it to Katelin, which I wasn’t expecting to happen.

What was Katelin's reaction after finding out about your secret job?

She cried a lot and was really upset with the fact that I lied to her about it. However, we talked for a long time, and she came to understand why I do it. There was never any talk of breaking up, and we still want to be together.

In the show, you expressed uneasiness about telling Katelin. Do you feel better now that it's out in the open?

I feel so much better. All of the stress I had before is gone now that she knows. I don’t have to hide anything anymore, and it feels great.

Did revealing your work to Katelin help bring you closer together?

Absolutely. In fact, Katelin just came out with me to Ohio for Thanksgiving to meet my family for the first time. It went really well, and they all love her.

What was it like shooting a scene with your friend Julian?

It was really awkward actually, but we had fun. There’s a clip on the website for it because it’s being released in a few weeks, and it’s gotten a lot of hits, so I’m excited to see the reaction to it.

Have you found a way to be less anxious before shoots, or do you still keep up with your pre-shoot rituals?

I’ve actually stopped taking pills beforehand because of health risks associated with them. Now my pre-shoot ritual is just listening to some music and trying to relax before having to perform, and it’s been working well.

Have you been featured in more videos since we last saw you?

I’ve actually just had three new videos released in the past two weeks. The ratings on my videos are always close to five stars, which is amazing.

What steps have you taken to help begin and grow your brand?

I’m still trying to save money, which has been tough. I’m definitely continuing to get my name out there and always looking for new ideas for products that I’d like to create for my brand.

Ben

In the episode, you were told you were a rising star at Sean Cody. Have you been featured in many more videos since we last saw you?

Honestly, it hasn’t changed too much, but I still shoot a decent amount of videos. I did just film two back-to-back films recently, but I think it’s because they wanted to shoot with me as much as they could before the holidays.

Has shooting a scene become easier or more difficult since climbing the ranks at Sean Cody?

It’s pretty much the same. I like to keep my routines as consistent as possible and by the books. If my routine changes at all before I film a scene, it’ll throw me off.

Have any other companies expressed interest in having you be in their videos?

I haven’t heard from any other companies yet. I still have another year on my contract with Sean Cody, so after that year is up, maybe I’ll look into other places who might be interested in filming with me.

Has your newfound success in the industry helped open doors to other moneymaking opportunities (public appearances, interviews, etc.)?

Not yet. I think as time goes on with my career at Sean Cody, other opportunities may present themselves, especially since I still have another year with them. But nothing has opened up just yet.

Do you still go out in Boystown? Are you starting to be recognized more often for your work?

I actually haven’t had the chance to go out in Boystown since we finished filming. I’ve been really focused on the work with Sean Cody, and it’s taking up a lot of my time.

How has your friendship with Johnny been since you came clean to him about being a gay porn star?

It’s great! We still talk a lot, but I haven’t seen him in a while because I’ve been busy with work and taking care of the kids.

How is Kristal? Is she still supportive now that you’ve moved to doing gay porn full time?

Kristal is doing great. She continues to be incredibly supportive and actually still encourages it. She was the one who pushed me to start doing porn, after all.

Do you have any plans to find another line of work, or will you continue doing porn for as long as you can?

Oddly enough, I’m toying with the idea of getting a serving job to balance out the craziness of the porn. I like to be busy, so I’m trying to decide if I want to always have something to do outside of doing porn, or if I’m comfortable with only having to work when I shoot a film. I’m not 100% sure yet.
