Watch Bill Nye Explain The Science Behind Dreaming -- In Emojis

You'll be dreaming of fourth grade science class after watching this.

Bill Nye, the unofficial science teacher for elementary school students in the early '00s, is back to teach you about the brain in a new episode, released Monday (Dec. 7), of his "Emoji Science" web series for Mashable. The Science Guy reports from the Emoji Science lab to break down the neuroscience behind dreaming.

Nye starts off by explains the three states neuroscientists use to describe our brains -- awake, rapid eye movement dreaming and non-rapid eye movement dreaming. Throughout the video, animated emojis act out every process Nye talks about.

"We're not the only ones who dream," Nye says in the clip below. "Lions and tigers and bears, they dream, and so do dogs."
