"When my publisher told me they had a final cover for Divided, I had no clue what to expect. They did such an incredible job with Dualed that I wondered if they could achieve that same kind of success again. And since it was a sequel, there were new factors in play that didn’t come up with Dualed—touching upon the overall theme of the series while still being true to its own story arc, the interplay of colours and how the two books would look next to each other, etc.

I shouldn’t have worried because the cover for Divided is amazing.

Just as with Dualed’s cover, West is portrayed as a strong female protagonist (which was really important to me). Both the mirrored maze and her sword hint at the action that takes place in Divided, as well as being reflective of the Alt aspect of the series and West still continuing to deal with that. The cool blue tones are a great complement to the softer and earthier rust tones of Dualed, too. And the designers decided to go with a new font, which means Dualed’s paperback will also feature this change!

As always, my hugest thanks and gratitude to graphic artist Michael Heath and the art department at Random House for giving Divided such a brilliant cover. I love it, and I think it’s absolutely perfect. I hope readers will think so, too!"
