Cowabunga! Booyakasha! New York Comic-Con 2012 is starting off right, when it comes to toy reveals, thanks to LEGO and their incredible announcement of Nickelodeon’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” LEGO sets! While this has been rumored pretty heavily over the last few weeks, this is the first time official word has been given and, thank Krang the Kraang, they even sent along some images! For those fans attending NYCC 2012, the TMNT product will not only be on display, but you can enter a contest each day to win an exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles minifigure! Of course, now that people are aware of this, actually navigating the LEGO booth (#TK) to get a look might require every skill in a ninja’s arsenal! Read on for info on the toys, the con-exclusive, and tons of sweet, LEGO-y images full of mutated goodness!
LEGO Group is expanding partnership to create construction toys based on the newly re-launched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television series. The collection is slated to launch in North America on January 1, 2013 and will launch in other global markets later in the year. The companies have a long-standing relationship and first partnered together in 2006 to create LEGO SpongeBob Squarepants.
LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brings the action-packed adventures of Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael and Leonardo to life in LEGO form with a series of vehicles, well-known scenes and iconic LEGO minifigures. One playset and select minifigures from the forthcoming line will be unveiled at the LEGO booth (#TK) at New York Comic-Con at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from October 11-14.
About The Shellraiser Set to be revealed at NYCC:
The Shellraiser Street Chase, which includes a pizza truck.

As you can see, these sets are going to be based on the latest TMNT incarnation, as seen in the Nickelodeon cartoon. While these are pretty incredible, I’m hoping they do well enough that LEGO will produce vintage sets as well.
