'Dark Knight Legacy': Nolan-Verse Continues In Epic Fan Film

by Brett White

While we have to wait a few more years to find out how the casting pans out, there's one thing that a Ben Affleck Batman does signal: no more appearances by Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Robin John Blake.

Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" concluded with Blake as the heir to Bruce Wayne's Bat-mantle, a development that would surely have led to a very interesting—and very different—status quo for Gotham City. But with Batman's fate now firmly tangled up with Superman's, a void has been created—one that filmmakers Woody Tondorf and Chris Landa hope to fill with "The Dark Knight Legacy."

The fan film has a teaser produced, one that shows off pretty high production values for a fanmade film. The clip also includes several notable Gothamites, most all of which were absent from Nolan's trilogy. The Red Hood, Penguin, Ventriloquist, and (get ready for it) Stephanie Brown all get a Nolan makeover. The preview even includes what looks to be John Blake as Nightwing, with actor Daniel Vincent Gordh pulling off a decent JGL impression. But if fans want more than this preview, they'll need to fund the rest of the film over at Indie Go Go, where it's currently a third of the way to it's $30,000 goal.
