Stan Lee Describes Thor Cameo, Petitions For 'Batman' Appearance

When the iconic collaborative creator of Marvel’s foundational roster of characters spoke to Hero Complex about his “Thor” cameo at Saturday’s Kids Choice Awards—Lee plays a truck driver who tries using his semi to wrench the Norse God’s famous hammer from the ground—it was typically tongue-n-cheek.

“Did I do it well? Did I look like a truck driver?” Lee asked. “Because I’m a method actor. I bought myself a truck and I rehearsed.”

Lee’s next cameo idea though, was ironic even for the cheeky Marvel architect.

“I wonder why DC Comics doesn’t have me do a cameo in Batman? Just think how people would come to see that. They wouldn’t believe it.”

No, they probably wouldn’t. But it’s worth a wonder if the idea’s comedic potential would end at the suggestion, or flower within a “Batman” film, delighting Dark Knight fans with its inherent absurdity.

With a few Marvel projects taking off at the same time in preparation for the grand climax that is Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers”, now is a busy time for Lee, who mentioned also his cameo in “Captain America: The First Avenger”.

At the time, the creator was still unsure who he might be playing. “They just tell me what to do,” Lee said. “I never have anything to say about it. When I show up, I never know what I’m gonna do.”
