Hulk greeted us as we walked in. X-23 (pictured) was stationed by the escalator. A character from "Warhammer" stood nearby, waving a gun haphazardly on the convention floor. Welcome to the first day of New York Comic Con 2010 and the wonderful world of cosplay that accompanies it.
Last year, NYCC opened its doors to 77,000 people, many dressed up as their favorite superheroes, manga characters and big screen villains. If today's packed floor of elaborately dressed con-goers is any indication, this year should deliver even more get-ups that leave you wondering, "Damn, how long did it take you to pull that off?!"
Just a few minutes ago, the Splash Page team hit the floor to snap photos of some of the more extravagant costumes — everyone from Space Marine to a Stormtrooper — and we've gathered them all together in one photo gallery. We'll be updating the gallery throughout the Con, so keep checking back for the latest and craziest looks from NYCC 2010!
