'The Losers' Casting Update: Idris Elba Closing In On Roque?

According to a report over at EW's Hollywood Insider, Elba is closing in on a starring role in director Sylvain White's adaptation of DC/Vertigo's "The Losers," rumored to be up for the part of Roque, the second-in-command of a black-ops team out for revenge against a government that did them wrong.

Should this news pan out, Elba will be joining "Watchmen" star Jeffrey Dean Morgan (who will play Clay) and Columbus Short (Pooch), who have both officially signed on for the adaptation. Meanwhile, we're still waiting on official word as to whether or not “28 Weeks Later” actor Jeremy Renner will be joining the elite military squad.

For those of you not in the know, "The Losers" is a re-imagining of a classic Jack Kirby series, written by Andy Diggle with art by Jock. The story follows a group of U.S. Special Forces soldiers left for dead by their country and out to get revenge against their former commander.

Are you happy to see Elba getting more attention from Hollywood lately? What do you think of the moves on "The Losers" so far? Let's hear it in the comments.
