That sneaky lil' deadmau5. Apparently, modern science has perfected a teleportation device -- or so it would seem. If there is one thing that we've learned over the past few years it's that you can always expect the unexpected from our pal Joel Zimmerman (deadmau5), and at the recent Miami Music Week festivities, the charismatic Canadian took the Project Blue Book gang by surprise.

?Let us set the stage: It was one of our more entertaining interviews of the week. After all, how could sitting down for a chat with 3/4ths of the Project Blue Book crew be anything less than utterly fantastic? With the young, talented, and extremely witty Porter Robinson telling me about the chemistry test he had to take that Tuesday back at his North Carolina high school, and DJ Aero explaining in detail how Skrillex's tour manager, "The Road Hog," was nearly cited with a health code violation for being nude from the waist down in the DJ Booth at LIV nightclub just a few nights before -- it was a rather humorous chat from the get go. All while Tommy Lee worked a shake weight and blew bubbles at his girlfriend (and deadmau5 vocalist) Sofi, as she sat and chatted off camera with her most recent collaborator, Moguai (who she had just met for the very first time in the lobby just five minutes earlier). I mean seriously, Bob Ross (rest his soul) could hardly paint a better picture himself.

Anyway, the trio was supposed to be joined by Skrillex as well, but the night before (or morning of, however you view it), he finished his last of many gigs at 7 in the morning -- so we let him sleep in a bit before facing the cameras. In any case, to make long story short (too late), it was just the 3 of them chatting with me on the rooftop of our scorching poolside bungalow at The W Hotel.

Now, just before the Blue Bookers sat down for our chat, I received a bummer of an email from one of Joel's managers telling me that our interview (scheduled that same afternoon) needed to be pushed until the next day. His flight from Toronto was canned because of that pesky fire/explosion at Miami International Airport ... and here's where the fun began.

The boys and I had just gotten to talking about how Joel was stuck and what a mess the whole thing was when all of a sudden ... BOOM! Well, it's better off explained by watching the video. All I can really do textually is relate this to a mathematical equation. Team Mau5trap + Project Blue Book = Magic... 'Nuff said. Enjoy.
