The MTV News Top 25 Songs Of 2010: Usher, Eminem, Lady Gaga And Others Make The Grade

The MTV News Top 25 Songs of 2010 has come to a close, and Usher's "OMG" sits on top of a list that also includes the likes of Kanye West, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Drake, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Jay-Z and a host of others. Over 300 songs were nominated over more than two dozen ballots, and through a series of complicated mathematical formulas (in between fits of shouting, chain smoking and explorations of black magic), the MTV News squad settled on the 25 songs the best encapsulated the year that was in popular music. In the end, Usher's chart-topping smash "OMG" (his ninth trip to the top of the Billboard Hot 100) took the top prize. But you don't have to take our word for it, as celebs like DJ Pauly D, Travie McCoy, Kyle Massey, Far East Movement and others all co-signed the selection of "OMG" as the year's top jam.

In case you missed the rest of the list, here's the breakdown of the top 10.

1 - Usher, "OMG"

The definitive dance floor anthem of the year and a huge reinvention for one of R&B's most consistent artists.

2 - Kanye West, "Runaway"

The centerpiece single from one of the year's best albums.

3 - Kanye West, "Power"

The other definitive single from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

4 - Rick Ross, "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)"

The soundtrack of the streets no matter what neighborhood are from.

5 - Cee Lo Green, "F--- You"

The potty-mouthed comeback single from the former Gnarls Barkley probably should have been a novelty song but was also the most thrilling Motown throwback.

6. Robyn, "Dancing On My Own"

Perhaps the most honest, heartbreaking club anthem to come out in years.

7. Drake, "Fancy"

One of hip-hop's hottest rookies brought one of the coolest catch phrases into the pop culture lexicon in 2010.

8. Jay-Z, "On to the Next One"

Most of The Blueprint III was next-level, but "On to the Next One" is the sound of Jigga raising the bar to previously-unseen heights.

9. Eminem, "Love the Way You Lie"

"Love the Way You Lie" is a study in contrasts -- a seriously dark dirge that also managed to be the definitive jam of the summer.

10. Lady Gaga, "Telephone"

Gaga turned up the heat and threw a party on the dance floor, with Beyoncé as the guest of honor.
