Kid Cudi -- one of our "MCs to Watch in 2009" -- has spent the last few months of his life on a rollercoaster. From travelling to Hawaii to work with Kanye on 808s and Heartbreak to headlining his own tours, Cudi has been making the transition, slowly but surely, from underground MC to international rapper. Recently, Cudi took time out from playing gigs, working in the studio and getting in trouble at Reebok events for a sit-down interview here at MTV News.

Sporting his beloved Surface to Air leather jacket, a gold-and-diamond encrusted Jesus piece and Bape from head-to-toe, Cudi came ready to talk. He talked about releasing a video pairing one of his songs with a "Transformers 2" trailer, and opened up in detail about his recent altercation at a Reebok All-star event that ended with him being tasered -- the first time Cudi had spoken on this incident in such detail.

He also told us about meeting his now-label-boss and idol Kanye for the first time -- it's coming from Cudi, but let's say it involves randomly running into Kanye at a CD store and throwing out an unprepared, off-the-cuff pitch that basically went something along the lines of "I'm Scott ... but I go my the name of Kid Cudi ... I'm a rapper ... I'm a big fan ... Can you sign me? I'm destined for greatness!'

Something in there caught 'Ye's attention, because he dropped the call he was on and spoke with Cudi for about 10 minutes. While nothing came out of that chance meeting, it was just a few years later that Kanye heard "Day 'N' Night," and as they say, the rest is history!
