What's Up With The 'L.A. Candy' Movie? We Asked Lauren Conrad!

Shortly after Lauren Conrad released her New York Times best-selling novel "L.A. Candy," news broke that the former-MTV-star-turned-mogul would work with Temple Hill Entertainment partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (you know, the duo behind the "Twilight" films) to adapt her vision for the big screen.

In February 2010, as she was promoting her book, "Sweet Little Lies," she noted that the game plan was as such: "Actually, the movie is meant to be based on the story that's told over the three books that I'm writing--three books, one movie. It's a trilogy. It's one story being told over the three, so I think it's one overall story."

Well, with nearly two years since that interview, we just had to know if her story would ever make the leap to the movies. When we had the opportunity to speak to her about her spin-off, the aptly titled "Fame Game," she explained that things are still up in the air.

"Right now, honestly, right now I’m just trying to get through this month with the book tour,” she said. “But there’s nothing new to report at this time. It’s a really, really long process is what I’m learning. It was really new for me and that happens every time you get into it and you sort of learn as you go along.”

For now, she’s just focused on this new trilogy of books, and she really loves it. “With books it’s about the creative process,” she said. “It’s really fun to come up with these stories and develop characters and just run with it. It’s fun. It’s like storytelling.”
