From 'Secret Circle' To 'The New Girl': 5 Fall Series We Can't Wait To Watch

To help you wade through all the newbies, we've picked out the five new fall shows we're most excited to watch. Check them out after the jump and let us know if you plan to tune in.

5. "Ringer" (The CW)

Starring "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"'s Sarah Michelle Gellar (a.k.a. one of our most favorite television heroines EVER) and Kristoffer Polaha (yes, he's back too!), "Ringer" centers around a woman who goes on the run after witnessing a murder, only to end up switching places with her ultra-rich twin sister (doppelganger alert!). Basically, it's like the grown-up version of "The Parent Trap" but much darker. While the trailer looks promising (it kinda gave off a "Gossip Girl" vibe), we're hoping the actual show lightens things up a bit.

4. "Best Friends Forever" (NBC)

We hadn't heard much buzz about "Best Friends Forever," so we went into it with low expectations. Big mistake. The clip for the show had us laughing out loud while simultaneously making us miss our BFFs.

3. "Apt 23" (ABC)

ABC has proven its worth with comedies lately ("Modern Family," anyone?), and we're optimistic that this show about a naive Midwestern girl who moves to the big city only to lose her job and end up with a conniving roommate will find a permanent place on the schedule. If you're still doubting its success, just know that it stars James Van Der Beek (AS HIMSELF!). Really, who can resist a good "Dawson's Creek" reference?

2. "The Secret Circle" (The CW)

The trailer for Kevin Williamson's new project about a coven of witches has a decidedly "Vampire Diaries" feel (which makes sense since the two shows will be back-to-back this fall) and a stellar cast (read more about our take on the trailer here). Let the magic begin.

1. "The New Girl" (Fox)

In what is possibly our favorite fall trailer, the totally quirky and always cute Zooey Deschanel stars in "The New Girl," a comedy about a woman who moves in with three guys after an emotional break-up. Zooey recently told us that she feels like, "it’s a really exciting time right now for women and comedy," and this trailer proves why.
