I've decided Lionsgate is secretly using Capitol-caliber surveillance techniques to monitor my every move. How else could they time each new tribute announcement to coincide with my lunch (no matter whether I leave at 1 or 3)? And so it continues today as I return to my desk with pita (appropriate?) and falafel in hand, I'm introduced to "The Hunger Games"' newest cast members.
Samuel Tan and Mackenzie Lintz have been reaped as the tributes from textile-producing District 8, according to the movie's official Facebook page. Our friends over at Down With the Capitol did a bit of sleuthing and found the Lintz Kids' website (they're an acting family!), in which Mackenzie's biography says she is new to Hollywood but screen tested for "True Grit" (impressive). Samuel is a bit more of a mystery, so stay tuned for more on him.
For those keeping track at home, this leaves just three districts tribute-less. Fans are no doubt most curious for the casting of District 2's Cato and Clove, as they figure more prominently in the Games than most.
