'Eclipse,' 'Glee' Soundtracks Sing-Off In 2010 Grammy Nominations

Considering "Glee" is in its second season, it's a little weird to think that this is their first time being nominated. Because of the early eligibility deadline (an album needed to be released between Sept. 1, 2009 and Sept. 30, 2010, to be considered), "Glee: The Music, Volume 1" is only just being acknowledged. And a soundtrack for a show that's all about music definitely has the edge over "Eclipse."

That being said, the "Eclipse" soundtrack was definitely "The Twilight Saga"'s strongest musical compilation yet. Six of the artists who contributed to the "Eclipse" soundtrack—Muse, Florence + The Machine, The Black Keys, Band of Horses, Cee Lo Green and Vampire Weekend—were all honored with Grammy nominations for their work this year as well, so by the transitive property of awards shows, that should mean "Eclipse" has a good shot.

BUT it's competing against some of "Glee's" best, like "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Defying Gravity," so it could be a bit of a toss up. We're hoping it comes down to a battle between the two soundtracks, though we should acknowledge that they're both also up against the "Crazy Heart" soundtrack. Uh-oh! We have a feeling, though, the Grammy voters might lean a bit in "Glee's" new direction. But at least we have two more "Breaking Dawn" soundtracks to continue the fight!

Which do you think will win: "Eclipse" or "Glee"? Or someone else? Tell us in the comments section and on Twitter. Don't forget to follow writer Terri Schwartz, too!
