'The Vampire Diaries'' Top 5 Romantic Moments From Season 2

5. Katherine Confesses Her Love For Stefan ("Memory Lane")

Romance and Katherine don't exactly go hand in hand, but we couldn't help but be a little affected when she confessed that it was always Stefan who had her heart (sorry, Damon). To top it all off, she made it clear that compulsion had nothin' to do with the feelings between the two.

4. Caroline Tells Tyler She's A Vampire ("Rose")

We can't help it, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) have the cutest chemistry ever. While their "friendship" hasn't yet sparked into a romance, they're definitely headed down that road. It was solidified when Caroline ignored Damon's warnings and admitted to Tyler that she was a vampire so that he wouldn't feel so alone and confused. We're expecting many more truly romantic moments from these two to come.

3. Elena Breaks Up With Stefan ("Plan B")

Okay, so we know breaking up isn't exactly romantic, but the scene in which Elena (Nina Dobrev) tells Stefan (Paul Wesley) "it's over" was filled with so much raw emotion that it was romantic. Seriously, we found ourselves holding back tears, which worked out because Stefan cried enough for all of us!

2. Jeremy Asks Bonnie Out On A Date ("Katerina")

We've got to give it up to Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). It's not easy making the moves on your older sister's best friend, but he totally manned up and asked Bonnie (Katerina Graham) out in "Katerina," and for that alone he deserves a spot on this list.

And the No. 1 romantic moment from season two is...

1. Damon Confesses His Love to Elena ("Rose")

We know it was one-sided and all, but when bad boy Damon (Ian Somerhalder) finally broke down and confessed his love for Elena only to make her forget it moments later in an act of selflessness, it totally pulled at our heartstrings. Oh, and that single tear while he compelled her? Priceless.
