'Cougar Town' News: Lisa Kudrow Visits While Nick Zano May Move Out To 'Melrose Place'

The plot revolves around Courtney's 40-something Jules and her trysts with much-younger men, and the guys truly are what make the show for me. Level-headed son Travis (Dan Byrd) is the perfect foil for kooky Jules and her dead-beat ex-husband Bobby (Brian Van Holt). I couldn't love smarmy yet vulnerable neighbor Grayson (Josh Hopkins) more and am giddy to see him on a successful show after his series "Swingtown" hit the skids. And then there's Nick Zano, who I've had a crush on since he romanced Amanda Bynes on "What I Like About You." It's an all-together perfect storm of talent and good looks. Unfortunately for me (and likely for you fellow viewers as well), one of these gentleman may be switching zip codes very soon.

According to EW.com's Michael Ausiello, Courtney's boy toy Nick is in talks to join The CW series "Melrose Place," filling the spot left vacant by Colin Egglesfield, who recently departed the show.

"Zano would be playing a doctor who works with Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen) and Michael (Thomas Calabro) at Wilshire Memorial," Ausiello reports. "In an interview last week, executive producer Todd Slavkin described the character as 'irreverent and funny… He will move into the [apartment] building. He doesn’t take life very seriously. Medicine can be very fun as well as serious to him, and he ends up lightening up Lauren.'"

Ausiello added that Nick's casting on "Melrose" will not interfere with "Cougar Town" as he recently filmed his final scenes for the ABC series. Though we're sad to see Nick leave, we're happy he may have found a new TV home (and someone else to practice kissing apples with).

In other news from the "Cougar Town" gazette, a "Friends" reunion will take place early next year—though it's not the film version we've been hearing rumors about. Phoebe Buffay herself, Lisa Kudrow, has signed on for a guest spot on the sitcom.

“She’ll play a dermatologist that my character can’t stop going to even though [she's] mean to me,” Courtney told tvguidemagazine.com. Wouldn't it be great if this guest spot became a recurring role? Just think of all the great subtle "Friends" references they could make! Could I be any more excited?

What do you think, Crushers? Are you sad to see Nick Zano leave? Happy to hear Lisa Kudrow's visiting "Cougar Town"?
