Hugh Jackman To Start Selling Avon Products ... For A New Role

The story draws a bit from the British comedy "The Fully Monty," and follows a group of car salesmen who are abruptly laid off from their dealership. One man (Jackman) reluctantly becomes an Avon salesman in order to feed his family. While he initially finds his gig to be an embarrassing slam on his manhood, he soon finds that his stunning looks and rakish charm are a big hit, and make him a top Avon seller. He sets out to save the entire town by recruiting all the unemployed men into the cosmetic business in order to win a regional contest.

The idea is pretty hilarious and the role is a perfect fit for Jackman, who hasn't gotten to cut loose in very many comedies. But in typing out the make-up-and-Sexiest Man Alive fantasy above, I just realized that buying cosmetics from him would force me to face the Aussie without so much as mascara on. Ugh. "Avon Man" has now gone straight from pure wish fulfillment to the top of the nightmare list.

Readers, would you buy Avon from Hugh Jackman? Does this goofy comedy sound perfect for the Australian hunk, or should he stick to bad boys like Wolverine?
