'Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince' Premieres In NYC: Red Carpet Recap

Paul Revere would have rolled over in his grave if he knew just how excited we Americans became last night at the sight of the British invading our shores. The NYC "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" premiere last night brought out stars running in all levels of celebrity. Everyone from Diane Sawyer to Lance Bass made sure they were there to catch some of the first glimpses of the long-awaited “Half-Blood Prince," and, of course, its gorgeous cast.

Click on the pic below to see snapshots from the red carpet and keep reading after the jump for more on the fashions at the “Half-Blood Prince” NYC premiere.

First and foremost we would like to congratulate Bonnie Wright (above, left) on her -- now three times over -- impeccable sense of style. She looked absolutely lovely as she walked the red carpet in a little black Prada dress and, most notably, those shoes! How someone who has grown up in the public eye has managed to escape public notice is baffling, but her poise at the recent premieres means she finally has our attention -- just like she finally captures the attention of a certain wizard onscreen.

Emma Watson continues her fabulous streak of amazing dresses, but this black leather top and white pencil skirt get-up from designer Proenza Schouler guaranteed there would be no undies-flashing like at the London premiere with her vintage Ossie Clark dress.

Also, how have I forgotten to mention in all these red carpet recaps that Tom Felton looks like the nicest, funniest and undoubtedly hottest guy to come out of the “Harry Potter” star factory? With his bowtie undone and his blazer left at home, Tom looked much more casual and comfortable than Daniel Radcliffe, who showed up in a shiny silver suit that was nearly buttoned up to his neck, but hey, we love him anyways. Rupert Grint once again made the graphic tee and suit combo look classy. It doesn’t seem to have caught on yet, but that doesn’t stop him from trying.

With the notable absences of Evanna Lynch and Jessie Cave from the NYC premiere, newcomer Freddie Stroma (who will hands-down replace Robert Pattinson as the hottest secondary character in a “Harry Potter” movie -- sorry “Twilight” fans!) and Warwick Davis and family did make their first appearances at a premiere. Warwick’s son looked adorable with his glasses and tux and the smiles on the foursome’s faces shone brighter than all the paparazzi lights surrounding them.

David Yates, Michael Gambon and Alan Rickman rounded out the “Harry Potter” appearances, with Vanessa Williams, Kelsey Grammer and his family, Ashanti, Dennis Leary, Gina Gershon, Sasha Fox, Marcia Gay Harden and family, Michelle Tractenberg and Eric Mabius showing up for the premiere.

What was your favorite look from the New York City premiere of "Half-Blood Prince"?
