She Swiped Right And Found Love -- 'And' Her Future Kidney Donor

Watch Alana Duran find out the happy news after waiting four years for a transplant.

One right swipe changed Alana Duran's life. She was diagnosed with Lupus when she was 12, and the autoimmune disease affected her kidneys. No one in her family tested positive for a kidney match, so she's been on the transplant waiting list for four years.

Then, two months ago, she started dating Lori Interlicchio, who eventually ended up being her donor. The couple met on Tinder and plan to have the surgery in February 2016.

“A few dates [after meeting] we were talking about how long it takes to get a kidney in New York, and I learned we shared a blood type and decided to get tested,” Interlicchio told BuzzFeed News. After a round of various medical exams, she found that her kidney was a match to Duran's!

Interlicchio broke the news to Duran with the sweetest care package ever. The box contained candy, "Star Wars" knick-knacks, a hoodie, studying essentials and more goodies. At the bottom, a series of notecards -- "Tattoos are cool, but I’d rather get matching scars" -- revealed the happy news.

“I wanted her to hurry up and get to the bottom, but she was so appreciative of every single item I bought,” Interlicchio continued. “She talked about the 'Star Wars' band-aids for like 20 seconds.”

“It was really unbelievable and rather shocking that this woman in front of me, a perfect stranger I had met on Tinder, someone I love, was a match for me in more ways than one,” Duran said.
