Sky Ferreira's 'I Blame Myself' Music Video: Look By Look

We already knew before we hit play that Sky Ferreira’s new video for “I Blame Myself” would be all about the clothes. For her new My Night, My Time single, Sky teamed up with online retailer Ssense and System magazine on what could be the future of pop music: the shoppable music video. Ssense and System have made a few changes to the format since they released the first shoppable music video with Iggy Azalea. In the new format, you shop after you watch—rather than as it plays—which doesn’t take us out of the video’s world, which is, in this case, an abandoned lot. Of course, the clothes, front and center, do not disappoint.

In the opening scene, the camera tricks us for a moment into thinking we’re staring at the back of a dude before it does a 180º and we see that it’s actually Sky. She’s styled in a Givenchy star patch leather bomber jacket, a Christopher Kane hoodie, Saint Laurent crystal-embellished tights, a Saint Laurent biker skirt, and an amazing pair of black-and-white basketwoven Acne kicks with beaded flower Simone Rocha socks.

Then we get a shot of the only thing we can come close to affording, a pair of bright retro floral sunglasses from Opening Ceremony. Sky also wears a cool leather bow choker by Undercover that you could definitely DIY.

Next, Sky walks around a vacant concrete lot that has some very unusual graffiti—shout out to Ssense—in the monochromatic Saint Laurent and Balmain outfit we saw in the teaser. Sky is such a pro she even shot the video while recovering from her fall off the stage during the Bangerz tour—that’s her bandage peeking out from her combat boots.

There’s as much Saint Laurent as you’d expect from a video made by one of brand’s faces. While cruising around, Sky wears the fashion house’s sheer crop top. Also, that cat eye. Teach me your ways, Sky!

The biggest surprise of the video might be Sky’s dance routine, for which she wears Saint Laurent’s lips-print blouse with her bomber jacket and a pair of black shorts.

But Sky’s dancing doesn’t last for too long—she’s arrested and taken into custody. There are worst ways to take a mug shot, though, than in a Saint Laurent sequined moto jacket.

In a rather ill-advised move, Sky attempts to seduce the police officer and, in the process, sheds her striped Saint Laurent shirt. I hope she got it back—it costs $950!
While we probably won't be scooping up her $2,975 Balmain skirt, it's pretty cool knowing exactly what she's wearing. You can watch the video and shop, if you so desire, below!
