How To Get A Glowing New Year's Eve Beauty Look In 5 Easy Steps

The whole NYE beauty look.

Shine bright like a diamond- or rather, like the New Year's Eve Ball- this December 31st! As you get all dolled up this year to ring in 2013, skip the dark smokey eyes; everyone and their mom wears that look to a nighttime party. Instead, make your eyes sparkle with layers of gold. Get step-by-step instructions after the jump!

1. Pick two shades of gold, a dark and a lighter. I used MAC Goldenrod and MAC Pure Pigment in Golden Lemon. Apply the darker gold all around your eye; the top lid, up past the crease, the outer corners, and under the lower lashes. Then blend the light gold all around the dark gold, bringing it even father past the crease and down below the lashes. You want to see gold, gold, gold, all around the eyes.

2. Next apply a light highlighter, I used Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Tattle Tale, to the inner corners of your eyes. I just dabbed it on with my pinky and then blended the edges.

3. Apply you favorite black eyeliner in a winger cat-eye. I used MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack with brush #263

4. Apply highlighter to the top of your cheekbones, for some extra shimmer.

5. Make your lips pop with a cherry red shade. I used NARS Heatwave mixed with NARS Lip Pencil in Jungle Red.

Gold shades are universally flattering, so this look is wearable for everyone. Just don't forget to bring your lipstick with you...after all, you'll need to reapply after your New Year's kiss.
