Guys, has Diane von Furstenberg been listening to LMFAO's "Sexy And I Know It?" She got all mysterious and sexy on us for fall 2012—and we're talking bare shoulder, plunging neckline, front slit kind of sexy. The fashion wunderkind designer has made a name making wrap dresses a staple in every stylish woman's wardrobe, finding fans in everyone from Rachel Zoe (who sat front row) to The City's Whitney Port. But this time, Diane von Furstenberg traded in the feminine office-friendly look for a dash of subtle sexiness, invoking a sense of come-hither mystery with a parade of vibrant cocktail dresses and smoldering gowns down the runway. Her wrap dresses took a backseat to resplendent color-drenched separates and bold, printed jumpsuits with daring halter necklines. The impetus for all this sassiness? A rendezvous with a dashing gentleman (hmm, we're thinking... Alexander Skarsgård or David Beckham, pre-marriage) that Diane von Furstenberg imagined as "a meeting with suspense and expectation." So...if you're now daydreaming of being chased by the lover of your dreams who just happens to be completely OBSESSED with you, you're right on target for DVF's latest inspiration.

Diane von Furstenberg captured the mystery of said storied love affair with a puzzle motif that permeated her fall 2012 presentation. The theme materialized in the invite, which boasted cutout puzzle pieces, as well as the runway, which was composed of the same puzzle pieces in mirror form. But rather than give us a collection of puzzle-inspired prints (yawn), DVF kept it exciting with vibrant mustard, violet, turquoise, and crimson hues paired artfully together...because a woman who sticks to one color palette is totally last season (and so NOT mysterious). Next Models signee Solange Knowles clearly got the memo as she wore a blue printed suit, red and white blouse, and electric yellow pumps to Diane von Furstenberg's show. How very fashion-forward of her. DVF's message? Keep things exciting, show a little skin, and you can woo a man (in time for Valentine's Day) AND stay in style. Clearly, we're taking notes.
