‘The 100’: The 17 Best Fanvids For Every Type Of Fan

We're ? percent sure you will love these fanvids.

If you're anything like us, then you are dying for "The 100" to return to your television screen for season 3. The post-apocalyptic CW drama is one of the best, most hard-hitting dramas on TV, and has inspired a passionate (and talented) fanbase that has totally risen to the high creative bar set by this show.

That's right, we're talking fanvids, people! ?

If you've ever spent any time on YouTube, then you know how these fanworks inspired by popular TV and film can be as impressive as the source material itself. Add those talented vidders to a show like "The 100" — which is already gorgeous to look at, incredibly well acted, and ambitiously addresses themes like colonialism, torture, and war — and you have some seriously affecting art.

Don't believe us? Here are 17 of some of the best "The 100" fanvids the Internet has to offer.

If you're looking for an optimistic twist on the daily misery that is the Sky People's lives.

Somehow, ridiculously talented vidder eemersonm manages to include the lowest points of these characters' lives, while also representing the hope that still lives in the relationships they have with one another. Feel free to bookmark this one for re-watch after every gloriously depressing episode of "The 100."

If you're looking for a refresher on ALL of the craziness that has gone down so far.

"The 100" has produced 29 episodes over two seasons, but, in that time, it has churned through the amount of plot and character development most shows don't dare to make it through over the course of their entire runs. Vidder KristinaOrtutova has somehow managed to condense the most important themes and developments of the run so far into this beautiful video.

If you want to know what it feels like to be in the world of "The 100."

OK, that's kind of a weird way to characterize this video, but sparksfly221 does an amazing job engaging the senses "The 100" characters use by highlighting moments of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. It's like no other fanvid I have ever seen, and works incredibly well to draw you into the world of this show. Not that you would ever want to stay there for long IRL.

If you heart the character of Bellamy Blake.

And, really, who doesn't? Follow his tale from his violent beginnings in early season 1 to his slightly less violent ways in season 2 with this vid from ThePankee.

If you're still not over how awesome of "The 100" ladies are on an episodic basis.

Warning: this video may make you want to grab your fiercest female friends and make glorious, righteous change in the world. (Who am I kidding? You should definitely go do that.) In its free time, "The 100" likes to do backflips over the absurdly low bar that is the Bechdel Test, and this video from Queen K. does a pretty excellent job of showcasing all of the kickass female characters on this show.

If you are here for the Clexa.

No doubt about it: the relationship between Lexa and Clarke was one of the most compelling parts of season 2. Whether you ship these two together or not, it's hard not to be drawn into the question of the head and heart in times of war that Clarke and Lexa continued to debate throughout the season. TheSerialLove captures all of that — and the steamy kissing, too — in this beautiful vid highlighting the Clexa relationship.

If you're looking for a vid that asks the question: what have we become?

This question is at the very heart of "The 100," and is continuously being asked and revised as the show progresses. You'll see the theme of personal and collective responsibility in the face of war weaved throughout this show and many of the fanvids it inspires. This vid from Shattered Desires is one of the absolute best.

If you're looking for a Kane/Abby vid.

How could you not ship a couple that started this show trying to kill each other (OK, so it was Kane sentencing Abby to death because he believed so strongly in the system), and ended the second season holding hands (OK, so Abby was recovering from almost being blood marrow-harvested to death, but it still totally counts). Point is: these two have crazy chemistry, and Jessicahhhh does a pretty amazing job highlighting that in this moving tribute to the pair.

If you can't get enough of Raven Reyes.

Raven is one of the bravest, most brilliant characters on this show. Since day one, she has been risking her life for the people she considers family — and, with some mad mechanic skills and the persistence to do just about anything she sets her mind to, she's a force to be reckoned with. This lovely vid from Diana Nekrasova highlights everything our girl Raven has been through.

If you adore the sibling relationship between Bellamy and Octavia.

As the only siblings in a society that forbids parents having more than one child, the relationship between Octavia and Bellamy is supremely unique within the world of "The 100." It also undergoes an incredible amount of change as Bellamy accepts that Octavia can take care of herself — even if she will always need her big brother (and vice versa, TBH). Relive all of the Blake siblings best moments with this incredible vid from Alexa Lexie.

If you're looking for a vid that highlights the mother-daughter relationship between Clarke and Abby.

This just in, Internet: There needs to be more Abby/Clarke fanvids in the world. Luckily, Wunderlust has got us started with this killer vid about one of my favorite mother-daughter relationships on TV. The relationship between Clarke and her mom is complicated, nuanced, and full of love and respect. It is also an ever-changing understanding of who these two are to one another. You know, just like mother-daughter relationships IRL.

If you're looking for a Bellarke video as epic as their relationship.

The Bellarke (romantic) ship has yet to set sail in canon, but it is cruising right along on the Interwebz — and it's not hard to see why. These two spend an impressive amount of screen time gazing at one another for a show that has a lot going on and that doesn't have a particular interest in romance. Coldrequiem, who has many wonderful Bellarke vids, does an amazing job of showing the connection Bellamy and Clarke have in this epic fanvid.

If you want to revel in the awesomeness of Octavia Blake.

Octavia may just have the most satisfying character arc (so far) on a show filled with gloriously-realized character arcs. She grew up as a secret, but refuses to let that define her. In season 1, she struggled against her controlling brother. In season 2, she learned the skills to enact vengeance on anyone who would move to do her or her loved ones harm. Presumably, in season 3, she will conquer the Earth — or, you know, fulfill a much cooler goal. Because that's just how she rolls. Check out this vid from EnchantedxPassion for a reminder of just how much of a badass this character is.

If you ship both Clexa AND Bellarke.

Be still, my fandom-loving heart! This vidder, k4lifornia, has gone ahead and made a bold statement: you can ship both Clexa and Bellarke at the same time. This is totally true — I know because I also fall into this camp. Both of these dynamics are incredibly compelling and I don't want to live in a fandom where I have to choose.

If you want to stare into the darkness of "The 100."

Brace yourselves, fandom friends. This video from ShatteredxDesires does not sugarcoat any of the terrible things the Sky People do and have had done to them. Silver lining: it does draw connections between those two categories in fascinating ways, highlighting just how much all of these characters have been changed by their experiences on the ground.

If you're here for the Linctavia.

You didn't think I could forget about this show's Romeo and Juliet, did you? Octavia and Lincoln haven't had it easy. He kind of kidnapped her. Her people tortured him for information. He turned into a flesh-eating killer. You know how it is. But, somehow, this crazy kids have been able to work through it all — probably because Lincoln has always recognized how strong Octavia is, and loved her for that strength. Not feeling the Linctavia? Check out this great vid from Daisy94e, and maybe you will change your mind.

If you're looking for a more contemplative look at the characters on this show.

I'm a sucker for any well-done fanvid set to The Cinematic Orchestra's "To Build A Home," but this has to be one of my absolute favorites. In this vid, oliviabrooke takes the time to check in with most of the main characters from "The 100" ensemble, giving us a glimpse of what drives them to keep going in the face of all they have suffered. Guys, building a home is hard work. For more on that, tune into season 3 of "The 100" when it premieres in the new year.
