An Elderly Couple Helping A Young Man Tie His Tie Will Warm Your Heart

So many feels. So little time.

We're often taught to respect our elders as a blanket policy. This is usually in the form of giving up our seats and a few "yes, ma'ams" and "sirs," but in reality, respect comes in many forms and cuts both ways.

A recent Facebook post from Redd Desmond Thomas shows us that if you look for this kind of consideration in unexpected places, the results can be quite moving. When an elderly woman in Atlanta, Georgia saw a young man struggling to tie his tie, she didn't judge him for it — she didn't ignore him either. Instead, she simply asked if he knew how to tie his tie, and once he confessed he didn't she had her husband step in. Not only did he help the young man, he taught him something to take with him and use in the future.

"The older gentleman moved without hesitation [almost a reflex response] and gave him a step-by-step tutorial; then -- afterward -- the elder gentleman watched the young gentleman repeat the steps and show him that he had it," Redd wrote on Facebook on November 14.

The picture alone is worth a thousand words, but Redd summed it up best in his heartfelt post.

WE LOVE THIS TOO!
